letter from Mr. Prithwiraj Purkayastha
Dear Mr. Konstantin
Barsenkov,
A warm
greetings from Assam, India. Thank you very much for tuning into Wavescan on
AWR and Indian DX Report as well and for sending us your reception report with
recordings. I also appreciate your beautiful QSL too and in return please find
enclosed your eQSL verification card. I hope you'll like it.
The theme
for this eQSL is Save Forests of Assam. As you may know that Dehing Patkai
Wildlife Sanctuary is the only rain forest in my state Assam which is also
considered as the 'Amazon of the East'.
This wildlife sanctuary is a home to a variety of fauna and flora-some
being endangered and critically endangered. Moreover, it is a designated
elephant corridor. Such circumstances require special protection for keeping
its biodiversity. However, the Government is hell bent on giving permission for
undue coal mining activities in the heart of the forest which is a massive
threat to the biodiversity of the forest and this region as well. On the other
hand the biodiversity of Dibru-Saikhowa National Park has faced a gravedanger
after production oil well of Oil India Limited (OIL) at Baghjan in Tinsukia
caught fire while clearing operation at the oilfield site. The fire is still
could not be controlled and has already destroyed nearby villages and some
forest land. Tempering with nature is like tinkering with our future. When
wildlife is safe in their natural habitat, human beings are safe. We all must
stand together to save our forests. So as a social responsibility initiative
Indian DX Report is presenting this special eQSL to our listeners so that you
can also raise your voice to #Save the Forests of Assam and #Save Assam.
I am 37
now. I am fond of your country Russia and during my childhood I use to read a
newsletter sent by the Embassy of Russia in India. The friendship between India
and Russia is very well known to the world so also we have similarities between
our thought also. Yes, you rightly pointed out that years back postal letters
were the only means of m=communication with stations and DXer friends also. Do
you know, I did have many pen-pals all over the world and still have few with
whom I do correspond on regular basis. But I dont have one from Russia yet!!
Actually, writing letters is an art but this is fast fading among our new
generation these days. So also some other hobbies like DXing, Stamp Collection,
Coin, Matchbox collection and many. So to revive these hobbies once again I
have founded Radio & Hobby Foundation in Jorhat (my home town) and also
have a small hobby museum where children visit and can interact with me on
hobbies. Please find attached a brochure of our foundation. I shall be happy if
you review our QSL and write few lines about our foundation as well in your
blog.
Indian DX
Report is a small DX capsule produced and presented by me for the Wavescan
since year 2011. With support and blessings from my fellow DXers like you from
all over the world, IDXR has already entered into the prestigious India Book of
Records as the longest running International DX presentation in English
language from India. To know more about us you can visit our facebook page
Take care
and be safe. Happy DXing.
